Recent snowfall in Western Washington has made for exceedingly dangerous driving conditions.
On February 24, 2011, the icy conditions in Thurston County caused an SUV carrying a mother and four young children to slide off the road and roll over down a 20-foot embankment. Miraculously, no one was injured. The Washington State Patrol attributed the lack of injuries to the fact that every single passenger was safely buckled and in car seats or boosters.
