Herbert and Carol Fuller founded the firm in Olympia in 1972 after meeting in law school, where Carol was one of only two women in her graduating class. Their three children – Marya, Ninamaria, and Jay – all became lawyers and practiced with their parents. Over the years, the firm grew while remaining grounded in the same family values and commitment to serving the community.

Today, Marya Fuller continues to guide the firm as its senior partner. Born and raised in Olympia, Marya studied law at the University of Washington and worked at the firm in a variety of roles before becoming a partner in 1986. Her decades of experience in personal injury law, deep connection to the community, and commitment to her clients remain central to the firm’s work. She is one of the few attorneys with more than three decades of personal injury experience. As a specialist in accident and injury law, she has built a reputation for excellence in helping her clients obtain the justice and compensation they deserve.

Marya works closely with her nephew, attorney Paul Strickland, who represents the third generation of the family to practice at Fuller & Fuller. Paul’s connection to the firm began when he worked there as a file clerk at age 16. Paul earned his law degree cum laude from the University of California, Irvine School of Law and, after law school, he clerked for the Honorable Justice Richard W. Pollack of the Supreme Court of the State of Hawai‘i. He later spent several years representing individuals and businesses in complex federal litigation in the Los Angeles area before returning home to Olympia to work at the family firm.

Working together, Marya and Paul share a commitment to listening carefully, treating every client with empathy and consideration, and pursuing justice and fair compensation for injured people facing difficult and uncertain times.
