You are entitled to a FREE CREDIT REPORT once a year from each of the three major credit bureaus: TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. You can order all three at once, or you can monitor your credit over time by ordering them one at a time over the course of the year.

If requested, credit bureaus must disclose all of the information it has regarding you and your credit, and it must also disclose the sources of that information. Since so much of American life nowadays is based around one’s credit rating, this is extremely important information to know.

If you discover an error in your file, notify the credit reporting agency. They are required to investigate the items in question within 30 business days of receiving a reported error.
