Starting April 15, 2011, crossing the SR 520 bridge in Seattle will require payment of a toll – but there will be no toll booths.  So how will this work?

An electronic monitoring system will automatically scan your license plate number if you are not equipped with a “Good To Go!” pass, and will send you the bill in the mail.  The toll ranges from free (daily from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.) to $5.00 (weekdays from 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.).  However, any toll amount is reduced 30%-60% if you plan ahead and get a “Good To Go!” pass.

The Department of Transportation is currently offering a money-saving promotion.  If you purchase and activate a “Good To Go!” pass before April 15, 2011, you will receive $10.00 in free tolls for the SR 520 bridge.
