Medical Malpractice: Shoulder Dystocia
Tacoma, Olympia, Port Orchard, Puyallup, and throughout Washington
Babies can suffer shoulder injuries during the birth process. You may have been told that your child has a brachial plexus injury or a nerve injury. Other medical terms used for this condition are Erb’s palsy or shoulder dystocia.
A child with this condition may have very limited use of the affected arm, or may not be able to use it at all. One arm may not grow properly. Other parts of the body may be affected as well.
A doctor using excessive force during delivery, or failing to properly estimate a large baby’s weight, are just two of the possible causes of this type of injury.
If you think a doctor’s error may have caused your child’s injury, please contact Fuller & Fuller today. Your child may be entitled to compensation for the harm he or she has suffered.
