In late March, President Obama declared 7 Washington counties (King, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lewis, Skagit, Skamania, and Wahkiakum) eligible for federal funding for repair, clean up, and replacement of damaged public facilities due to severe weather, mudslide, and flooding damage caused by storms in January, 2011.  At this time, FEMA funds are not available for private property claims, but this determination may change.  To learn more and to check for updates regarding eligibility for claims for private property damaged by January’s severe weather, visit the FEMA website.
