On September 16th, 2010 the Health Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee approved the Concussion Treatment and Care Tools (ConTACT) Act. The vote followed a hearing on the new legislation held on September 8th, 2010. The legislation will establish new guidelines for managing concussions amongst student athletes, including raising the awareness in coaches, educators, and parents about the recovery time for someone injured and when a student can safely return to play.
